Welcome Phil Taylor, Our New Quality and Compliance Inspector at Mackworth Vehicle Conversion Specialists

At Mackworth Vehicle Conversion Specialists, we are committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in everything we do. To help us uphold this commitment, we are thrilled to introduce our new team member, Phil Taylor, who has joined us as a Quality and Compliance Inspector.

A wealth of experience in the automotive industry

Phil brings over five years of quality assurance experience from his time at Toyota. During his tenure, he gained valuable skills working in a high-paced environment, performing up to 300 checks in just five minutes on a rolling road, where around 280 cars were assessed daily. His focus areas included verifying the functionality of components, checking brakes, monitoring fuel consumption, and ensuring the Electronic Control Units (ECUs) were correctly configured. This rigorous process guaranteed that each vehicle met all necessary quality standards before being certified and sent to the customer.

Phil’s passion for quality assurance and his meticulous attention to detail ensure that everything leaving the factory meets the high standards expected by both the company and its customers.

Phil’s decision to join Mackworth was driven by the company’s flexibility, which suited his childcare arrangements—a priority for him when considering new opportunities. He was also eager to remain in the motor industry and continue developing his passion for quality compliance and inspection.

Phil’s role at Mackworth

Phil’s role at Mackworth is critical in ensuring that every vehicle conversion aligns with our customers’ specific requirements. From the moment an order is received, Phil works closely with the team to make sure every detail is perfect. Once the modifications are complete, Phil conducts final checks, evaluating whether the work meets customer specifications, looking for potential issues, and reporting feedback to the team.

He takes great pride in ensuring the vehicle’s appearance is up to standard, paying close attention to even the smallest details to guarantee customer satisfaction. For Phil, it’s not just about the technicalities of compliance; it’s about taking pride in the overall finish and ensuring that customers are happy with the work delivered.

Phil has praised Mackworth’s onboarding process, describing it as efficient and welcoming. “The people have been incredibly friendly, and my manager Craig has taken the time to train me thoroughly, ensuring I feel settled in my role.
